# Invisible Apple Cake (Gâteau Invisible aux Pommes)

## Ingredients

- 1/3 cup butter
- to taste butter, for greasing
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp aluminum-free baking powder
- 1 small orange zest
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 3 whole egg, room temp
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1 Tbsp cane sugar
- 4 medium apple
- to taste powdered sugar (optional)
- to taste whipped cream (optional)

## Instructions

1. Whisk or blend the ingredients (eggs, sugar, butter, milk, vanilla, flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, orange zest) to create the batter.
2. Thinly slice the peeled apples.
3. Fold the apple slices into the batter.
4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking pan.
5. Sprinkle the reserved tablespoon of cane sugar over the top.
6. Bake until set and golden brown.

## Tips

- Use plant butter as a substitute for butter.
- Use unsweetened soy milk or rich oat milk as a substitute for whole milk.
