# Pickled Red Onion

## Ingredients

- 2 whole red onion
- 2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 2 whole bay leaf
- 2 tsp peppercorns
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 whole garlic clove

## Instructions

1. Cut the onions from bottom to top and slice thinly.
2. Separate the onion slices and place in a glass jar.
3. Combine red wine vinegar, water, bay leaves, peppercorns, sugar, salt, and garlic cloves in a pot.
4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
5. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the red onions until the jars are filled to the top.
6. Cover the jars with cheesecloth or a paper towel and refrigerate for a couple of hours or overnight.

## Tips
