## Ingredients

- 1 container vanilla frosting
- 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1/4-1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt (optional)

## Instructions

1. Transfer the frosting into a larger mixing bowl.
2. Add the softened butter and vanilla bean paste to the bowl.
3. If using unsalted butter or cream cheese, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
4. Whip the mixture together using an electric mixer until well combined, light, and fluffy.

## Equipment

- bowl
- knife
- electric mixer

## Tips

- Adding butter helps the frosting taste better, makes it stretch, and cuts down on the sweetness.
- You can substitute softened cream cheese for the butter.
- You can use vanilla extract instead of vanilla bean paste.
- If you want to add sugar, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
- Whipping store-bought frosting alone increases the volume and makes it lighter and fluffier.
